Virtuoso is an elite, invitation-only global network of the top 1% of luxury travel partners in the world - including many of the world’s leading hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators.

Through our affiliation with Brownell and member of the Virtuoso network, we’re connected to some of the top travel partners globally. These relationships truly become an extension of the service we provide to you. Why should I work with a Travel Advisor when I can book travel online myself?

You absolutely can plan a trip on your own—but many of our clients would rather not spend hours researching, second-guessing, and piecing everything together.

Our role is to simplify the process and elevate the experience. We get to know how you like to travel, then design a trip that fits you—while helping you avoid common pitfalls and choices that look great online but don’t always deliver in real life.

What do you do that is different from AMEX, Chase Travel, or other online booking platforms?

AMEX and Chase can be great for straightforward, transactional bookings—but they’re not designed for highly personalized, experience-driven travel. With us, it’s a more personal and consistent relationship. You’ll always work directly with us, so there’s no starting over or repeating your preferences to a new agent each time.

Through our partnerships, we’re also able to offer VIP perks, priority treatment, and added value that often goes beyond what large platforms provide. It’s a more thoughtful, connected approach to travel—focused on creating a seamless experience, not just completing a booking.


How far in advance should I reach out?

It depends on the type of trip, but earlier is always better—especially for high-demand destinations and peak travel periods.

As a general guideline:
  • Safaris, hosted tours, and very remote destinations: 12–18 months in advance 
  • Custom international trips: 6–11 months in advance 
  • Holiday travel: 6-9+ months in advance
  • Quick getaways or hotel-only stays: Much more flexible

If your timeline is shorter, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always happy to see what’s possible.



I only need to book a hotel stay. Why should I do that with you?

Even for a hotel-only stay, there’s a lot of value in booking through us. If you’re staying at a preferred or Virtuoso-affiliated hotel, we always connect with the hotel ahead of your arrival to make sure your reservation is prioritized and any preferences or special requests are noted.

We’re also able to add thoughtful perks—like daily breakfast, priority room upgrades (when available), resort credits, and more—at no additional cost. It’s a simple way to elevate your stay—without any added effort on your part.



Do you book Airbnb or VRBO?

We don’t book Airbnb or VRBO stays, as they can vary widely in quality and consistency. It’s important to us that every accommodation we recommend is reliable, well-managed, and truly enhances your overall experience.

If you’re interested in a private home or villa, we do have access to a curated portfolio of exceptional options through our trusted partners. These homes are fully vetted and professionally managed, often with added services like concierge support, housekeeping, and sometimes on-site staff. This allows us to confidently recommend accommodations that offer both comfort and a consistently high level of service.




Do you book flights?

Yes, we can assist with booking premium economy, business, and first-class airfare.

Working with our concierge air desk means your flights are monitored and supported 24/7. If delays or changes occur, you’ll have proactive assistance without needing to navigate wait times at the ticket desk or airline hold times on your own. (air quotes are complimentary, ticketing fees apply)
If you prefer to book your own flights, that’s fine too! 



Can I use my points or loyalty programs when booking with you?

While we’re not able to book hotel stays or airfare using points, we can absolutely apply your loyalty numbers or memberships to your reservations—so you’ll still earn points and receive status credit when you travel.



Do you recommend travel insurance?

Yes—travel insurance is strongly recommended, especially for international trips.

We can provide tailored policy options based on your trip and preferences, including plans with “cancel for any reason” coverage. 

Ultimately, the policy is your decision, but we’ll guide you toward the right options so you can travel with peace of mind.



Can you provide line item pricing for my custom itinerary proposal?

For full-service custom itineraries, each trip is thoughtfully designed with many moving parts—hotels, experiences, guides, and transportation—seamlessly woven together. Many of our trusted partners work with privately negotiated or confidential rates that aren’t itemized individually, not even for us. Because of this, your proposal is presented as a total investment rather than a detailed line-by-line breakdown. This is the industry standard. When a more detailed breakdown is available, we’re happy to share it.

Before we begin, we’ll discuss your budget and priorities to ensure your proposal aligns with your investment level, with thoughtful enhancements suggested when appropriate. Our goal is to provide clarity and confidence—so you feel great about both the experience and its value.
